UK casinos to host Summer Series

A number of UK casinos will be running tournaments throughout the summer for those enthusiasts who are not lucky enough to have a flight to Las Vegas booked.

The Grosvenor UK Poker Tour Summer Series consists of a series of lower buy-in events in May, June, July and August, while it will be looking to build on the success of last year's debut, Poker News reports.

Blackpool, Luton, Manchester and Dundee are just some of the places the tour will take in, as card sharps up-and-down the nation will still be able to indulge in some felt-based action.

With the Word Series of Poker due to last for 52 days, there is traditionally a bit of a lull in the local circuit during this time.

Earlier this week it was revealed that Rank, which owns the G Casino brand, received £42.5 million in overpaid VAT from HM Revenue & Customs.
