Danish poker professional Gus Hansen began the week in what can only be described as disastrous circumstances, losing more than $1 million (£612,000) to a number of his online rivals.
However, Card Player reports that Hansen has now begun to turn his luck around once more and having reduced his winnings for the year to $3 million by Wednesday (April 13th), the publication now claims he is back above the $4 million mark for the year to date.
The reversal of fortunes came on Wednesday evening, when Hansen was able to force a big win against Phil 'OMGClayAiken' Galfond at $300-$600 pot-limit Omaha.
Other winners of the past week included Dan 'jungleman12' Cates who won $192,000 on Tuesday evening against relative newcomer JayP-AA, Poker Listings has reported.
He played 1,185 hands in total, splitting his time between $100/$200 Pot-Limit Omaha and heads-up $50/$100 No-Limit Hold'em.
Cates now stands second in the overall leaderboard for winnings in 2001 at approximately $2 million.
