What is Verified by Visa?

Verified by Visa is a global Visa program designed to help make shopping online more secure for both consumers and merchants. A Verified by Visa personal password you choose provides an extra level of protection against unauthorized use of your VISA card when you register your card or deposit online at participating online merchants.

How much does Verified by Visa cost?

Nothing. Verified by Visa is absolutely FREE to VISA cardholders. ECash Direct will not implement any fees to use this service.

Do I need a new card to use Verified by Visa?

No. Verified by Visa works with your existing personal VISA card.

What is CCV2 or Signature Panel Code?

Your Card Verification Value 2 (CVV2) is a three-digit security number imprinted on the signature panel of your Visa card, which validates that the physical card is in your possession.

How do I use Verified by Visa?

Simply enter your card information in the online merchant's request order form. Your VISA Card Issuer will then ask for your personal Verified by Visa password. Once your password has been confirmed by your VISA Card Issuer, your request will go forward for completion.

How do I sign up my VISA card?

For VISA Europe, visit Visa Europe - Sign Up for Verified by Visa and simply click on your Card Issuer's logo.

For other locations, visit Visa Global website and choose your country from the drop-down menu.

Can I sign up more than one card?

Yes. You may sign up all your personal VISA cards.

How can I find out when Verified by Visa will be available for my VISA card?

If your Card Issuer is not listed on the VISA website, please contact them directly.

How is my personal information protected when I sign up my VISA card on the Verified by Visa Web site?

You are actually signing up on your Card Issuer's web site and are therefore subject to their privacy and security policies. Please refer to your Card Issuer's privacy statement for additional details.

What do I do if I have problems during the enrolment process?

The enrolment process is very straightforward. But, in the unlikely case you experience difficulties; the enrolment website has online information available to help you. In the event that you have a problem which you still cannot resolve, please call VISA issuer's help desk who will be pleased to assist you. The number is on the back of your debit / credit card.

Clients should be encouraged to contact their issuing bank to confirm if they can enroll. Additionally, VISA and MasterCard local websites list the majority of the participating institutions based on the client's chosen location.
